This fabulous Art Deco necklace is Circa 1920, adorned with large old cut Paste stones and baguette cut Paste stones. All Rhodium plated, all set in a lovely abstract design.
Paste is a heavy, very transparent flint glass that stimulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones because it has relatively high indices of refraction and strong dispersion, the Romans in particular were very skilful in the production of coloured glass pastes.
The back of the necklace is all closed backed Silver gallery.
Purchased in London and steeped in English history.
